Mia knitted this adorable beanie from a kit she got from Grandma Donnie for Christmas. Not only that, but she taught herself how to do it by watching a tutorial video. I didn't help her at all. <3

I love Up and we did this cute puzzle from the movie, and then Mia drew a picture of Carl :) <3

Tessa:

We have been telling Tessa that if she gets potty trained, we will take her to Disneyland. We asked her what ride she wants to ride in Disneyland and she says, "I wanna ride the cup teas." (teacups)

Chris had a work conference, and I tagged along on a little trip to Austin, Texas. My mom and Dylan and Sammi all watched this kids while we were gone. When we got home I asked Tessa,

Me: "Did Dylan and Sammi take good care of you?'

Tessa: "No. They didn't."

Me: "I'm sure they did."

Tessa: "No! They didn't!"

Me: "Did grandma and grandpa take good care of you?'

Tessa: "Yes! They cute! I want to babysit them next time."

Me: "Can you believe that Reesie is in school??"

Tessa: "Yep. I can't believe I not in school."

(When talking about her best friends in kindergarten and how she gives them hugs everyday over and over because they are her best friends.)

Me: "Awww I wish I could be your best friend in kindergarten.

Reesie: "You're already something better. My mommy!"

Reesie:

Me: "What was your favorite thing that happened at school?"

Reese: " Umm snack time. Snack time, and break time, and water time."

Our conversation for the first few weeks after school

Me: "What did you learn in school?"

Reese: "Nothing." Then after a few days of this, "Nothing! I never learn anything. I just have fun!"

Rhett:

We were having our Come Follow Me family night one night and we were talking about spiritual gifts. We had went around to each family member and took turns having each family member say what spiritual gifts each family member had. It was a really sweet and tender family night, and after Rhett said, "I have a love for people in this home in a special place in my heart."

Reese's first day of Kindergarten

I am not one bit happy about Reesie starting school, but luckily Reesie is happy enough about it for both of us :). My nightmare was realized this year when the Davis School District decided to move to full day kindergarten. I was 100% against this. There are already kids who go to full day kindergarten, and they are not academically ahead of the 1/2 day kindergarten kids. And kids are already in school for SO much, I was heartbroken about adding more to that schedule and making our kids grow up sooner than they have to. I'm not interested in sending my kids to a public daycare, I want them as much as I can have them. Luckily, there was a half day kindergarten option that I was so grateful for, and so Reesie is off to school and it's a tiny bit less heartbreaking than it might have been if she was going to full day.

Her little face is much much happier today :)

I missed this happy face every second today and was so happy to see it again after school :) <3

First day of school

Chris and I were out of town in Texas and we flew in the morning that school started. We raced back home to be here in time to take the kids to school.

It's always so sad for me when my kids go back to school. I LOVE the Summer and all of the fun relaxing time we get to spend together. As soon as the kids are back in school I feel like I am SO much busier and I miss all of the quality time and fun. Mia started 4th grade this year and Rhett is in 2nd. Watching my kids grow up is a dream come true and heartbreaking all at the same time. I love them so much!

Cute little Reesie Kimmy did not realize that because she is starting Kindergarten, her first day of school would not be until next week. When she realized that this was not her first day of school, she was very disappointed.
